| Ten Key Points About the Experienced Coach Program:
1. You'll be committing yourself to coaching 100 people within two years, from the time you start. This means you'll coach an average of one new person each week to finish in two years. Think of it as one complimentary session per week. If you have the time and enthusiasm, you can certainly coach more than one person per week and finish faster. Previous graduates have finished in an average of eleven months!
2. You will need to coach each person for a minimum of 30 minutes. Preferably, you'll establish an ongoing coaching relationship with them, but even if you don't, coaching them once will count, as long as they fill out your online feedback form, which takes about 3 minutes to do. Your feedback form will be customized with your name, email and website (if you have one), and your feedback will appear in an online folder for your eyes, only.
3. We're pretty flexible about what clients will count for credit. They certainly don't have to be paying clients, though we will give you training on how to convert them to paying clients. They can be friends, family, even buddy coaches. However, you can't very well build a coaching practice by just coaching your family, so you'll want to branch out further into your network as soon as you have the confidence and that's when you start building up your practice.
4. People who you should NOT coach for this program, include young children, anyone who is mentally impaired, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or who has a mood or character disorder. Most coaches know this instinctively!
5. If you already have coaching experience, you will be able to get credit from this program, if your previous clients are willing to fill out the online Coach 100 Feedback Form. But no other form of proof will be accepted.
6. The Coach 100 Feedback Form is designed to give you valuable feedback on the effectiveness of your coaching for each “client”. You'll learn to become a great coach much faster, because of this. Most of the questions can be answered on a 1-5 point scale. (By the way, some ECPers use this form to help them master their coaching skills and get certified by the IAC and ICF.) This is the perfect adjunct to your coach training, because it gives you what most coach training lacks: real world experience with real clients.
7. The form will also ask questions of the "client”, like “Do you want to be contacted by this coach again?”, "Would you like to continue coaching with this coach?", “Would you refer this coach to others?”, “Would you be willing to write a brief testimonial for this coach?”. Referrals and testimonials are a goldmine when it comes to building your practice! And with this program, you'll get them automatically! One terrific benefit of this training program is that if you're shy about inviting people to work with you - well, the feedback form actually does that for you!
8. As you go through this process, you'll be able to take live and/or recorded teleclasses designed to teach you the skills you need as you go through the program. This is practical training that every coach needs and most coach training programs fail in this area. You'll also be able to ask for help from the instructors and/or your fellow members whenever you run into challenges reaching your Coach 100 goal.
