The Top 5 Ways To Coach 100 People Fast

I've helped hundreds of coaches take Thomas Leonard's (The
Father of Coaching) advice to build successful coaching
practices by coaching 100 people as fast as they could. And
I've watched many succeed. Many more didn't. What's the
difference? Well, I could tell you that some are more
committed and some are more fearless than others and that
would be true. Commitment and Courage go a long way when
you're building your coaching business. However...

Some coaches simply have a better strategy. Here's a simple
list of what works when you're filling your one-to-one
coaching business.

1. Ask your friends and relatives (and their friends and
relatives) to refer people to you. This works. Make a list
of people you know and decide to ask 3 or 4 of them each
week to refer someone to you to try a complimentary
session. You're offering something of value for fre*e.
That's very, very attractive. If you're a member of the
ECP, your Online Feedback Form will do the asking for you.

2. Join associations of people who you'd like to coach. If
you already know who your ideal client is, join groups and
associations where they hang out. You probably enjoy being
around them, anyway. Offer complimentary sessions to other
members, via chat rooms, list-serves, blogs, social events,
etc. I've seen coaches' businesses take off when they try
this!

3. Use free public speaking engagements to attract
potential clients. One ECPer was so successful with this
strategy that she not only filled her own practice, she had
to hire affiliate coaches to handle the over flow, before
she even finished coaching 100 people!

4. Write articles in a well-read publication and offer
complimentary sessions on your by-line. One ECPer coached
100 people and filled her practice in just 9 months this
way.

5. Use your email auto-signature to invite people to help
you complete your goal of coaching 100 people. People
love to help. Plus you're offering them something of value
- your coaching - in exchange. One graduate of the ECP used
this method to coach 100 people and now she's an internal
corporate coach.

coaching business, as your master the art of coaching,
while spreading the value of coaching to lots of people. We
